Strasbourg by Gorham Manufacturing Company, patented 1897. Strasbourg, a true rococo design, was inspired by master designers in the Louis XV period, who introduced to art this popular style of ornamentation characterized by curves and pierced shellwork decoration. Reverse scrolls, beginning at the bowls and tines and extending to the shell motif at the handle tip, outline this pattern.
