Stevens & Co., Atlanta, circa late 19th century, in the Aesthetic taste, the handles with Japanesque decoration in relief, the matte-finish blades with bright-cutting, each engraved with an initial "B" in a different font; each measures 7 3/4 inches. Provenance: Descended in the Family of Joseph Emerson Brown (1821-1894), Governor of Georgia 1857 to 1865, U.S. Senator from 1880-1891.
