GORHAM #30 COFFEE POT
An American coin silver coffee pot, maker mark of the Gorham Mfg. Co., Providence, Rhode Island, number 30, circa 1860, with oviod lower portion and incurved upper portion, raised on a circular foot, the shoulder and circular foot with beaded border, the body decorated with diaperwork, anthemia and strapwork enclosing a cartouche on either side, one vacant, one engraved Anna M. Wood, the same body, but slightly different decoration, as the coffee pot in the Lincoln tea and coffee service, acquired for the White House in 1861 by First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln:that tea set descended in the family and was donated in 1957 by Mr. Lincoln Isham, great-grandson of President and Mrs. Lincoln, to the Smithsonian Institution.
CONDITION: excellent overall condition with some loss to ivory insulator
